In order to experience unparalleled adventure and see the world beneath the waves, this is where it starts. Roatán is an ideal place to learn to snorkel and dive with calm, clear waters and a shallow, protected reef close to the Island Dive Center & Scuba School.
If you want to try scuba diving while you’re in Roatan, but you’re not sure you want to take the full certification course, then the Discover Scuba Diving sessions may be just what you’re looking for. This quick and easy introduction to exploring the underwater world doesn’t require any previous experience.
Divers ages 10 and up can learn the basic safety guidelines and skills needed in the comfort of our private beach and yards away from the second largest reef in the world.
Our tranquil blue waters are the perfect backdrop to get your PADI scuba diving certifications—the world’s most popular and widely recognized scuba courses.
Open Water
Almost anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn an open water certification. This is the recommended course for all who want to learn and scuba dive on a regular basis.
Advanced Open Water
Gain the tools you need to become a better and more prepared diver. The advanced certification greatly expands your range of dive sites and areas you can explore.
Optional Add-ons
Take advantage of our private rooftop patio for special events or charter customized fishing and diving tours to make your stay a memory you’ll share for years to come.
Rescue
While unlikely, emergencies can and do occur. Be prepared to prevent issues before they happen, as well as confidently manage dive emergencies.
Master Diver
Only about 2% of divers reach the black belt of scuba diving, placing you in an elite group of respected divers. Master status is a passport to more diving experiences and limited dive sites.
Divemaster
Hone and perfect your diving skills and be able to demonstrate skills to students at an instructor level. This course provides a professional-level knowledge of dive theory, physics, and physiology.
Individuals, families, and groups of all ages can experience the low-impact recreational sport at the guidance of Island Dive Center staff. Your instructor will teach you proper techniques and take you to the best sights to spot fish, turtles, and more. Masks, fins, snorkels, and life vests are included as you get to know the world below the water’s surface.
We encourage you to make the experience exactly how you like it. If part of your group would rather dive while the rest snorkel, your instructor can arrange a customized excursion that keeps everyone together on the same boat and dive site.
